Installation of Associate Pastor, Rev. Greg Zillinger

On Sunday, March 1, Shepherd of the Hills will be giving thanks to God as we install Pastor Greg Zillinger as our Associate Pastor. The installation service will be at 4 p.m. in the SOTH sanctuary.
A celebration pot luck dinner will be held immediately following the service in our gym. The chicken and drinks will be provided for this meal. We are asking you to complement the meal with a salad if your last name begins with A-P or a dessert if your last name begins with Q-Z.
Come, rejoice, and welcome Pastor Greg, Sara, and their children to our SOTH family.

Lenten Fellowship Suppers

Fellowship Suppers will begin at Shepherd of the Hills on Ash Wednesday, February 25, beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The Suppers will be held every Wednesday prior to our Lenten worship service (March 4, 11, 18, 25, and April 1).
Come eat a great homemade dinner, fellowship with your SOTH family, and stay for the Lenten Service as we journey with Christ. It is a time of preparation for His resurrection!
Each Fellowship Supper is hosted by a SOTH ministry and a free-will offering is taken to support the host ministry.

Advent Suppers will be coming to Shepherd of the Hills on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17 beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Come and eat a great homemade meal, fellowship with the SOTH family, and stay for the Advent Services. We will be preparing for the birth of our King through the series, “Sustained Devotion – Trusting God.” It is a time of preparation for the celebration!
Each Soup Supper is sponsored by a SOTH ministry and a free-will offering on behalf of the sponsoring ministry is taken at each dinner.

It's Bunko Time!

The Fellowship Board is sponsoring a night of fun and fellowship by playing BUNKO and having a dessert pot luck on Friday, November 21, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., in the Parish Hall.
Bunko is a very easy dice game and you can learn very quickly that evening if you don’t know how to play. Please bring a dessert to share. This will be a Bunko Night for adults and children 9 years of age or older. In order to help us plan for this fun night, please RSVP to Marlene Dreier at 303-798-5813 by November 19.

Hanging of the Greens

Please join us as we prepare for Jesus’ birth and the Christmas season. SOTH’s Fellowship Board will be sponsoring “The Hanging of the Greens” on Saturday, November 29, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
We will be decorating the church with Christmas trees, garland, ribbons, and bows. It will be a festive morning of Christmas music, warm fellowship, food, and fun. This is a great way for you and your family to prepare your hearts for the celebration of the birth of our Messiah.

OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH

Pastor appreciation is the sign of a healthy church, and healthy churches want to pay tribute to their pastor through loving acts of gratitude.
Biblically, pastor appreciation is a concept that appears throughout the pages of scripture.
Practically, showing appreciation serves two purposes. First, expression of gratitude is a positive witness, showing your community that God is loving and merciful. A second practical result of honoring pastors is that it creates an atmosphere that encourages the response to the call of God to the pastoral ministry.
Ultimately, clergy appreciation by a congregation is an expression of gratitude to God for their pastor. Honoring the pastor reveals more about a congregation than it does about the pastor.
Sometimes pastors are the loneliest people in the church. Feelings of disappointment, discouragement, and defeat may begin to plague the best of them. Paul's admonition to "serve one another in love" (Gal. 5:13) should encourage us to remember our shepherds. Shepherd of the Hills’ expression of gratitude for our pastors, their ministry efforts, and their families can be one of the most effective demonstrations to our community that we are a church who practices acts of love and mercy. FEASIBILITY STUDY

As many of you already know, SOTH leadership, with the input of our members, has been discussing the current and future needs of our church and school. Based on the information gathered during this process, the following have been identified as SOTH top priorities:
- Retire the debt
- Update carpet and electrical in the sanctuary
- Update carpet in the school and the offices
As a result of these discussions, we have chosen to conduct a feasibility study with our members. If you receive a request to participate in this study, we ask that you prayerfully consider taking the time to play a part in this opportunity. Based on the results of the feasibility study the Steier Group, the development firm selected to conduct this study, will present the findings to our leadership in late June. Leadership will present a report to our members and together we will be able to make a good, right and just business decision on behalf of our faith family.

The next Rockin’ Out MS concert to raise funds for the Colorado Chapter of the National MS Society and our non-profit CASE for MS, will be in Boulder on March 24th at the Trilogy Wine Bar. We are excited this time to have our guest artists, NINA STOREY, TIM HANAUER, and LINDA & JESSICA STOREY with their band the ALLELUIA BLUES to perform for this event. SHAUL TURNER, news anchor from FOX NEWS, will make a special appearance Our tradition of hosting a silent auction during the event will continue.
