Junior Kindergarten


Distinguishing Features

  • Age 5 by, September 15; but not ready for KindergartenJunior Kindergarten Classroom
  • Monday through Friday (Five days)
  • 8:15-11:30
  • Program follows school schedule
  • Before and After school Child Care available; 7:00-8:00 and 11:30-6:00

Goal and Philosophy

  • Maintain a Christian school experience that delivers the Gospel message, serves the community and provides quality education
  • Comprehensive program that promotes spiritual, physical, emotional, social, creative and cognitive growth and development
  • Young children learn best with developmentally appropriate activities

Academics

  • Science and Social Studies theme based curriculum concentrates on Alphabet, Reading Readiness, and Math activities
  • Math and Science experiences
  • Age appropriate computer instruction: weekly visit to the Computer Lab
  • Library Time including story time and the opportunity to check-out books
  • Individual attention to Fine Motor skills
  • Curriculum components include: Handwriting Without Tears, The Letter People, AcTiVe Phonics, CPH's Voyages.
