
Rev. Dr. Bradley R. Stoltenow was born July 3, 1962 in Ada, Minnesota.
After high school graduation from Ada Public Schools in 1980, Brad attended ConcordiaCollege in St. Paul, Minnesota, enrolling in the Pre-seminary program and graduated in 1984 with a B.S. in Psychology and Physical Education. Brad and Jodie (nee Puckett) met at Concordia and were married December 30, 1983.
In the fall of 1984, Brad began his seminary training at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. While at the seminary, he completed a course of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at ParkviewMemorialHospital in Ft.Wayne. Brad completed his vicarage at St. JohnLutheranChurch in Chester, Illinois (Southern Illinois District-LCMS), under Rev. Fred Campbell, graduating from the seminary in the spring if 1988.
Pastor Stoltenow’s first parish assignment was the dual parish of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Deer River, Minnesota, and Centennial Lutheran Church of Squaw Lake, Minnesota (Minnesota North District-LCMS) serving for four years.
In the summer of 1992, Pastor Stoltenow was installed as Associate Pastor of ZionLutheranChurch in Bismarck, North Dakota (North Dakota Disctrict-LCMS) where he served for 14 years. While serving at Zion in Bismarck, Pastor Stoltenow was accepted in 1994 into the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) Program at Concordia Theological Seminary and received the degree in the spring of 1998, writing a thesis in homiletics.
In the spring of 2003, Dr. Stoltenow was accepted into the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) Program at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey and received that degree in the spring of 2008, writing a thesis on the subject of acts of mercy directed toward the secular and pluralistic culture.
Dr. Stoltenow was installed as Senior Pastor of Shepherd of the HillsLutheranChurch and School in June 2006 and is currently serving in that capacity.
During the course of pastoral ministry, Brad has served as circuit counselor, vacancy pastor, Chairman of the Division of Youth Ministry of the North Dakota District-LCMS, Chaplain for the North Dakota State Highway Patrol, Board of Directors of the North Dakota District-LCMS, and numerous task forces and committees of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Brad currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Lutheran High School Association.
Dr. Stoltenow has also served in each of the communities he has lived in working in the areas of coaching football and wrestling and has served on local boards dedicated to athletics, hunting and fishing activities for the disabled, and other community service projects.
Dr. and Jodie Stoltenow live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and have three children; two at college (Anna & Kylie) and one at home (Joe).
