Although each day varies, generally we begin class by going over any problems the students may have with their homework.  I help work the problems on the board, and the students may correct their homework.  We grade the paper.  On some days, we spend about five minutes on mental math.  I orally give the students problems and they do them in their head and write their answer on the whiteboard.   Usually about three times a week we have math fact tests.  Each student is working at their own rate.  As a student passes one math timed test, they move to the next one.  Lastly, I teach the lesson, we practice what we've learned, and I give them time in class to begin their homework.  If there is a difficult problem, I am able to help the student or the whole class at that time.
